520 . ‡aBy the second half of 1971 David Bowie was justifiably being branded a one-hit-wonder, Lou Reed was considered washed-up following a disastrous solo debut, and Iggy Pop was seen as merely a drug crazed ex-Stooge. But a meeting of minds at the New York venue Max's Kansas City was the catalyst for a turnaround of fortunes for these three musicians, resulting in the most dramatic shift in musical style since the dawn of the rock age. This film investigates the era in which these brilliant, creative personalities worked most closely together. Includes contributions from Bowie's ex-wife Angie Bowie, Andy Warhol's Factory assistant Billy Name, MainMan Management vice president, Leee Black Childers, New York scenester Jayne County, Danny Fields, Dave Thompson, Jimi LaLumia, John Halsey, Paul Trynka, Victor Bockris, and others.
